WHAT HAPPENS IF WE HAVE TO RESCHEDULE OUR WEDDING?

If you do decide on a new date, the most important thing is to check my availability as soon as you have some dates before confirming. I will do my best to transfer things over to your new chosen date providing I am available. By working together we can hopefully find a date that works for us all. You will not need to pay a new booking fee to secure the new date if your wedding date is affected by Covid-19 restrictions. A new, up to date booking form will need to be completed for the new date. 

4 KEY POINTS

1. I am not charging any fees to transfer your wedding date if your current wedding date is affected because of government restrictions. 

2. I can transfer my photography/videography services only subject to my availability. Please contact me as soon as you have some potential reschedule dates to make sure I can be available.

3. To move your wedding to a new date, I ask you to keep to the original payment schedule.

4. If I am not available for your new rescheduled wedding date, please look for alternative dates. If your only option is a particular date where I’m not available, this is the equivalent of cancelling the contract.
   I will not be able to refund the non-refundable booking fee. If the cancellation falls within 16 weeks of your wedding date, 80% of the full balance would be due according to the agreed contract.

WEDDING INSURANCE

Within my contract  you agreed to having arranged comprehensive wedding insurance to protect  yourselves.  I’ve also written a short guide to why you should buy wedding insurance.  Most couples have been using their insurance policies to navigate through this crisis. Should you need to postpone or cancel your wedding, your first point of call should be your wedding insurance. They will let you know your next steps, which will help when you chat to your suppliers, including myself.

WHAT HAPPENS TO OUR BOOKING FEE IF YOU ARE UNAVAILABLE ON THE RESCHEDULED DATE?

Please refer to terms and conditions within our contract. I have successfully moved many couples whose weddings were originally planned between March to October 2020 to new dates in 2021. There have been compromises by both parties but for the vast majority, we’ve found satisfactory outcomes. Some couples have rescheduled their wedding to 2022 whilst others have booked a midweek (Monday to Friday) or Sunday wedding to secure a date in 2021 where all their suppliers can be available.

Unfortunately as indicated in Section 1 under ‘Booking & Booking Fee’ of our wedding contract, the payment is non-refundable even if the date is changed or if the wedding becomes cancelled for any reason.

If you cancel within 16 weeks of your wedding , 80% of the full balance would need to be paid. So please, look again at dates. Is there really no flexibility? I’m not being unfair, unlawful and I am conforming to CMA advice. So please don’t let it come to this.

Wedding insurance can help in these situations and I am happy to confirm in writing if required by your insurance company. 

WHAT ARE OUR OPTIONS IF WE KNOW OUR WEDDING CAN’T GO AHEAD?

If your wedding definitely can’t go ahead, I will work with you as much as possible to find a new wedding date. Most of my clients so far have chosen to postpone their wedding to later in 2020, 2021 and even 2022 and I am working with all of them to make it possible at no extra cost. Although I’m very busy with wedding photography bookings in 2021, I do have some midweek and Sunday dates still free. 

There are quite a few options if you really don’t want to postpone too far into the future including an elopement with a big party later, a smaller downsized wedding or a DIY wedding.

However if for some reason you are restricted to compromise on dates, days, seasons then I may not be able to find a clear solution.  If you are unable to provide a date that we can transfer to, then cancelling my services is the only option.  If you do have to cancel, the booking fee you would have already paid is non-refundable. And if you cancel within 16 weeks of your wedding 80% of the full balance would be due.

ADVISORY NOTES FOR RESCHEDULING YOUR WEDDING

Contact venue, church and registrars for new dates

First thing to do is to speak to your wedding venue, church and registrars. They should be able to provide you with several dates and these dates are the best place to start the process of the reschedule of your wedding.  You may need to go back to them for more dates if you can’t get enough of your supplier's availability.

If you do need to postpone your wedding because of covid restrictions, I ask you to coordinate with me at the earliest opportunity with potential dates to make sure I'm free - I’m sure all of your suppliers will ask for the same as we all want to be there for your special day. 

If I'm ill or isolating at the time of your wedding, I have a close group of trusted professional photographers/videographers I can call on as backup to stand in for me and I will then edit and deliver the photos in the style you love and provide the rest of my service as agreed. But rest assured,I'm doing all the right things to keep myself as safe and healthy as possible to make sure I can be at your wedding. 

SUMMARY

• Communicate with myself and all suppliers at the earliest opportunity

• Get as many possible dates from your Church, registrars, venue as soon as possible.

• Contact me ASAP with dates - Monday to Friday and Sunday dates have much more chance of all suppliers being available.

• Check your wedding insurance.

Hopefully all will be well between now and your wedding date and you won’t have to move, cancel or drastically change any of your plans. I shoot mainly with a documentary style, capturing events naturally as they happen to tell the story of your wedding day. I want to create a video that will make you feel like you were there again. A lot of the time you won’t know you’re even being filmed, where as other times I will be up close and personal getting perfect details shots or just dancing and having fun with you and your guests with camera in hand (mainly when the party is rocking).

Often described as “the extra bridesmaid” or “wedding planner", I’m there to help you achieve the full potential of your wedding and help you to have the most fun possible. A lot of videographers pride themselves on being really discreet, I’m not that person. I pride myself on being chatty and as friendly as possible but being discreet when appropriate. I talk absolute BS sometimes but it totally helps you guys loosen up and just to have fun together instead of just some guy standing in silence pointing a camera at you (it would get creepy really fast).

Highlights Video+ Teaser

All of the videos above are example highlights videos. When you book Pura Vida Cornwall for videography, this is what you are initially booking me to make for you. These will always be at least 3-5 minutes long. Because of the way that I film and edit, these videos are fast paced, full of energy and cover all of the highlights of your day. You get to see your whole wedding condensed into a small little package of awesomeness. This includes a fully licensed song as well so that it can be shared online so your friends can see how cool awesome your wedding was without any problems.

Speeches In Full

The speeches can be filmed and edited as a separate video as an addition. They are filmed with multiple cameras and superior audio that capture not only the speech giver, but the reactions, the tears and the lol’s too. You can decide if you want the speeches after your wedding. I always film the speeches regardless!

Full Day Edit

This video is about 9-12 minutes in length. It tells the story the whole day in chronological order and allows you to see more of the moments that you might have missed. This includes fully licensed music so that it can be shared online without any problems and delivered a a separate video.

Second Videographer

Filming both the bride and groom can sometimes be logistically impossible. A second videographer can make it possible to tell both sides of the story and cover alternate angles throughout the day.

Additional Days Coverage

4 hours coverage of either the day before or the day after the wedding. Perfect for destination weddings where you have a pre wedding party planned or a post wedding pool party/bbq. We could even have a trip to the beach the day after your wedding and jump into the sea in your wedding dress.

- Only available in addition to the Full Day Edit Add-On (This will provide potential extra shots for the highlight video as well as an extra section (3-5 minutes) within the Full Day Edit video)
